Open Clamshell ("the App") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection and usage on the App and website.

1. Information We Collect and Use

By design, the App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data outside of your local device. We do not operate databases or cloud servers that track user identities. However, minimal data is processed during interactions with third-party utilities as described below:

• License Validation: When you input a license key to unlock PRO features, the key is securely sent to our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (`https://api.lemonsqueezy.com`), for validation and device registration checks.
• Auto-Updates: The built-in software update engine (Sparkle) periodically queries our release server to check for updates. During this handshake, standard anonymous metrics (e.g., OS version, app version) are processed in real time solely to deliver the appropriate update package. This data is not stored or shared.

2. Payment Information

All payments are securely handled by Lemon Squeezy and Stripe. Your full credit card details are encrypted and processed entirely on their secure networks; no credit card numbers or billing details are ever sent to or processed by the App directly.

3. Data Retention and Erasure

The App saves your license configuration locally in your system's preferences (`UserDefaults`). If you delete the App from your device, all local registry data is completely wiped.

4. Cookies and Analytical Tools

Our landing page uses minimal anonymous cookies to support standard web hosting functionality. We do not use third-party tracking, targeting, or advertising cookies.
